I have to admit that sice last saturday's AGM, I have been pretty intolerant of a particular kind of middle-class english culture.
and Australia still has the Queen, etc... But at this moment I feel alienated. There is a huge gulf between me and english middle class culture. I have started seeing them in stereotypes. It's the first time that's happened
The kind of exclusion that happens from not playing by the same rules as everyone is subtle. I have been told it was because I 'rocked the boat', I 'cause a scene' - a very culturally specific crime.
and now I am angry... but that will pass, as will my sense of alienation and intolerance... until the next time.
