Installing an exhibition, I cracked some neon lighting over a shop window which I had to get replaced. It is a Bengali restaurant. Today I received a phone call from the company who had replaced the neon. He said he was calling to let me know that it had been installed and that the restaurant owners had started hassling about not replacing another bit of the sign (a bit that was faded). 'Trying it on'. He said he called me to let me know that it had been replaced at 1pm and that everything was sorted. He told me that he was calling so I had the full story because 'you know what they can be like'.
I could have asked, do you mean restaurant owners, them in particular or Bengalis, but I didn't.
