Had a meeting with the Graphic Designer about some printed material we are having for a project I am working on. One of the people there was a Somali girl. I found out you can hire people to stuff envelopes and stamp things if you want. I was appalled. It's such monotonous, boring work, I knew it had to sweatshop labour or the equivalent. The designer said, they mostly use prisoners or 'special needs' workers like blind people. It was on the tip of my tongue to add 'or refugees' but I looked up and saw T, the Somali girl. I edited my 'joke' before I said anything. Suddenly it wasn't a line that could just trip off my tongue.
