What I do not understand is why people in institutions do nothing when they see and work within institutional racism but as soon as somone attempts to do something constructive to reverse some of the most blatant manifestations - it's all about egos and careers and institutional politics...
I never would have guessed that some of the most obvious aspects of institutional racism aren't addressed, not because of laziness or a blindness, as I first imagined, but simply because of ego and ideas about people's careers. I can be v naive, it seems...
