Saw a person, a white arty type of man, with long dreadlocks. I have thought about dreadlocks on white people before. I wonder why white people, my close family included, want to style their hair that way. I know in the 2 cases of my family, it was to signify that these young guys are different from other white people. They are more free. More wild. More in touch with nature. Cool... and maybe some other stereotypes of black people as well... Now I know there are plenty of people who would say that a positive stereotype isn't a stereotype, or at least it's not a problem, but I don't see it that way. I know that every "good" stereotype has its bad flipside - like "wild" can be a good thing or a bad thing. In touch with nature can mean without any culture... etc.
To me there's no such thing as a positive stereotype.
