me, you, them

Arrived home in London, England

K, who travelled with me, went to work, glowing a new shade of golden from the intense Australian sun. At work, the white people commented on her tan. S, who is Indian subcontinent descent, commented that she no longer seemed so pasty and L, who is black, said she couldn't see any difference.

I remember when B came back from a holiday visiting family in the Carribean (she is black), she said she came back with a tan. I couldn't see it and she accusingly told me I was racist because I couldn't.
