An interesting juxtaposition: C's dad was born in England and though he has lived in Australia for 40 years, he has never 'naturalised' as Australian, or officially become a resident or citizen - yet he votes. C has a British passport though she has never stepped foot in this country before.

N, though born in Zambia, was entirely raised from a little girl in England and considers herself naturally as British - of Zambian roots. She hasn't been entitled to a British passport and is currently going through a huge hassle over being allowed to have one.
