There is a catchment I am trying to reach which is people from backgrounds currently under-represented in museum and gallery education. Currently the sector is heavily dominated by white middle class women - in London anyway...

Of course I knew I would piss some people off. In particular white middle class women who do not have jobs in the area but would like one. But I have also pissed off people who consider themselves victims in the system for reasons including race and class. A strange distortion happens when people only see themselves as victims, refusing to acknowledge their own privilege and power, seeing only where they don't have it or only focusing on past or historical injustices.

The reason for this catchment is less about giving opportunities to poor deprived people and more about putting people into postions of visibility as role models....
but victims don't seem to see the need for that. It's all about me and nothing about you or them.
