you-them

Today I explained that in an interview situation, one which only has people from minority ethnic backgrounds on the shortlist, you do not need to ask the 'diversity question'. Everyone from minority ethnic backgrounds have an understanding of diversity. They live with a home reality and a dominant culture reality. They live diversity. But you need to ask that question in general interviews to see if everyone understands the issues around diversity and access - "equal opportunities". I said it to a group of white people. They didn't argue but I don't think they agreed.
