The Fork’s Tale: As Narrated By Itself (2013)

‘The Fork’s Tale, as Narrated By Itself’ is written from the point of view of a nineteenth century Fijian ‘cannibal fork’ in the collection of the University of Cambridge, recording the object’s attempt to understand the collector that transported the fork from Fiji only to be left in a darkened storeroom with others of his ilk.

The novel goes onto relate encounters with other collectors since coming to Cambridge from Fiji.

The product of an inter-disciplinary methodology, The Collector’s Set uses art practice to interrogate assumptions in anthropology and in ethnographic collections management.

‘The Fork’s Tale, as Narrated By Itself’ was funded by Arts Council England, designed by Marit Muenzberg, released chapter by chapter by LemonMelon and culminating in The Collector’s Set.

The Fork’s Tale was selected by David Senior, Elizabeth James and Sofie Dederen to be part of Kaleid 2014 Best Books.
