I told a colleague about a workshop I was doing. I said I was using the room with Roi Kuper and Gilad Ophir. She looked blankly at me. "The Israeli artists", I prompted.
She said, "Oh yeah but that's your thing."
Now I am wondering about that. Why is it my thing? Because I'm Jewish? Because they've made work about Israeli/Arab wars? Why is it my thing and no one else's?
