I worked with a new group of people last night. It was their first session and of course they were nervous. I recognised one of them from a previous workshop. I said to her, I recognise you. She said, yes, I recognise you as well. You are the Jew!

I actually almost felt it as a slap in the face. I remembered the conversation we had when we met. I understood why she might say that, besides she is young and nervous.

Later I overheard her chiding a person she had also met previously. She had already introduced him as Jewish to me. I said I figured, he was wearing a Magen David. I overheard her berating him for being rich. Hmmm... I'm going to have to set a zero tolerance of bigotry tone next week I guess.
