Listening to the news all day. Hearing all - or many - views of the assasination of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, spiritiual leader of Hamas, did what I could have predicted. I ended up afraid.
One Palestinian commentators, a man, said something like, this assiasination make the conflict no longer about territory but about religion. Someone else, an American woman, was given the reply saying that that's the kind of conflict no one can win.
I got on the bus home and sat behind a woman, a man and a baby asleep. The man wsa big, young, Muslim. The woman was wearing a full veil. I felt anger towards them. I felt hatred. I imagined they were bringing up the next generation of terrorists...
A day of listening to the news had done it's job.
