Got into the lift with a man from the Housing Association with a toolbox. I asked, are you a plumber? (I have problems with the plumbing as well as mice.)
He went on to complain about how bad his workload was and he wasn't going to do anything for me... I said I didn't want anything yet...
The lift stopped on the 1st floor and he got out. The man getting in said, it's the 1st floor so the "plumber" got in again, clearly even more unhappy. When we got to the ground floor and the man got out, the guy turned to me and said, it'd be easier using the stairs. I said, are you kidding? And he looked at the guy in front of us and said, from the first floor...
Do you think he would have said that if the guy had been white, same as him?
